Almost every driver has experienced the ominous check engine light at one point or another. Seeing it pop up on your new vehicle however is very disconcerting. That’s the feeling multiple Hyundai Sonata owners are experiencing with their vehicles. Many callers to our 1 800 Lemon Law hotline are reporting a repetitive Hyundai Sonata check engine light issue.
Our friends over at Carcomplaints.com have logged numerous complaints ranging from blinking check engine lights to other symptoms occurring when their engine light came on. One driver reported that his wife “was driving down I70 in a blinding rainstorm, when all of a sudden the engine light started flashing, the engine started sputtering and the computer screen said “Engine System Malfunction”. We couldn’t manage more than 50mph down a busy interstate as cars and semis flew past us.” That same driver reported that his vehicle sat in a dealer shop for more than a month waiting on parts for replacement.
