As The Brand Heads Toward The Future, Many Drivers Are Dealing With Tesla Problems In The Present
Technology branches out and advances each and every day, with new products or new versions of what we already know and love being announced at any given moment. In all of these advancements, Tesla vehicles have become a mainstay with their sleek new designs and new broken ground in the field of technology. Sadly though, as the brand looks toward the future, many drivers are dealing with Tesla problems in the present, causing them to continuously bring their vehicles in for service.
The Tesla Model 3 might be fun to drive, but it has lost its Consumer Reports endorsement due to its unreliability. The vehicles are often highly regarded when it comes to initial testing, but once they are on the road with consumers, Tesla problems can pile up.
Consumer complaints concerning the 2019 version of the Tesla Model 3 are beginning to roll in, and those complaints surround a variety of Tesla problems, including with the electric systems. One concerned Tesla owner wrote to the NHTSA: “While driving through my workplace parking lot, my Tesla suddenly stopped and displayed a fault code…My car would not unlock the doors when I tried to exit, either via the touch screen unlock icon, electric door unlock button, or using my phone app.”
Our own Stephen D. Silverman recently wrote an article on Tesla problems for The Legal Intelligencer, where he relayed important information regarding the existing consumer protections that can apply if and when the owner of an electric vehicle is in need. Silverman discussed the meteoric rise of electric vehicle sales and specifically those of Tesla—whose sales have risen 900% in the last four years. As more and more of these vehicles are present on the road, there becomes more of a chance that consumers will encounter “lemons” and that they will experience the common repairs many Tesla owners face.
Silverman also discusses the self-driving and autopilot capabilities that most new Teslas boast as one of their most important features. There is a lot of concern surrounding the safety of these features, and they have caused their fair share of controversy. When problems arise concerning those features, State Lemon Laws and the Federal Magnuson Moss Warranty Act will be able to help.
As these new technologies continue to change the game each day in the auto world, the laws concerning consumer protections have to change with the times. Believe it or not, even with the rapid advancements in the industry in this day and age, consumer protections are keeping up as best they can. There are protections out there for consumers facing problems with their electric vehicles—including Teslas—even when technology is brand new like this. We have already successfully represented numerous consumers dealing with Tesla problems.
If you are a Tesla owner experiencing persistent issues under warranty, make sure you continued to report your problems to Tesla and keep a record of any and all repairs. If these issues are repetitive or you find your vehicle is out of service for an extended period of time, you may be entitled to significant compensation, or even a full repurchase or replacement vehicle. And best of all, under these laws, the representation is 100% cost-free.
