Mercedes Bleeding Seats Have Drivers Bloody Mad

Imagine plunking down tens of thousands of dollars on a beautiful Mercedes Benz C-Class sedan. You’ve worked hard and you are now treating yourself to a true luxury vehicle. The ride is smooth and quiet, your family and friends compliment you on such a beautiful vehicle….and then your seats bleed. Literally, your Mercedes seats bleed an oily, slippery substance like a scene out of a bad science fiction movie.

The oily residue appears when the upholstery gets cold and then heats up again rapidly. Mercedes Benz has issued a technical service bulletin, however even in vehicles where the upholstery is replaced, the Mercedes bleeding seats reappear. The vehicles affected seem to be produced in the US with MB Tex vinyl.

If you are suffering with Mercedes bleeding seats and you have been to a Mercedes authorized dealership numerous times to address the issue, or your vehicle has been out of service for a significant period of time, you may be entitled to remedy under State Lemon Laws or Federal Warranty Statutes. I’m glad you posted about this.

I am one of the customers who leased a 2015 C-300 and I have bleeding seats. Yes, an oily / waxy substance bleeds out of all the seats and headrests when the temperatures reach 25 degrees fahrenheit or below. The colder it gets, the more the substance bleeds from the seats. I have pictures that show the problem and you would be shocked if you saw the photos. Unbelievable.

My car was out of comission for 6 weeks. Mercedes got my seats replaced, but the problem has happened again. It’s really unbelievable.

I do suggest contacting Kimmel & Silverman to help you if you have the this problem. I had a Saab many years ago that was a Lemon and this firm did a fantastic and very professional job at getting me out of the Lemon and getting me my money back. And I was not charged one penny. Lemon Law makes the car manufacturer pay for it all.

Ironically, I have another Lemon but this time with the Mercedes.

I too will be getting out of this vehicle.

Within the first 6 months of the new 2015 C300 Mercedes I have been having the following issues:
      1) rotor/breaks replaced after car failed to break in the highway
      2) oily seats issue. Seats cover changed
      3) when I reverse sometimes car calls SOS
      4) car cant detect keyless. The valet parking ppl thought I had left them the wrong mercedes key. Blocked parking that day for an hour.
      5) sometimes side mirrors don’t open automatically

Mercedes refuse to replace the car even though it only has 2k miles.

@Mercedes: When they say the company refused, did you hire a lawyer or try this on your own. Visit https://www.lemonlaw.com/lemon-law-firm.html to find a firm your state to discuss the matter.
