Jeep Leaking Problem Still Leaving Drivers All Wet

We initially reported the problem in 2008 and we received over 100 comments from Jeep owners suffering with water leak problems.  Jeep Wrangler, Patriot, and Commander drivers seem to be hit the hardest.  And we don’t blame them for being upset. Water leaks can lead to mold and mildew, which can cause real harm for folks with asthma and/or allergies. We have seen water leak from pillars, dome lights, windshields, even through heating vents. The damage that can be done to the interior and the electrical system is extensive and should not be taken lightly.

If your Jeep is leaking and you are still under warranty, it is essential that you get to a Jeep-authorized dealership as soon as possible to have the leaking addressed.  Furthermore, if you smell an unusual scent or see that your rugs are damp, you must also bring this to the service adviser’s attention.  We are seeing numerous claims where they are replacing carpeting due to the mold that is growing as a result of the water leak.

Also, please hold on to all of your repair invoices.  If you are in three or more times with issues associated to your Jeep leaking water, you may be entitled to recourse under State Lemon Law or Federal Warranty Law.  Depending on the mileage when the Jeep leaking was first reported, you could be looking a new vehicle, a complete repurchase, or at the very least significant monetary compensation to reflect the diminished value of the Jeep as a result of the water leak problem.  And, as you know, both State and Federal laws provide fee-shifting provisions offering completely free legal help to consumers.  There is no cost and no risk to filing a claim if you qualify.
