Hyundai Sonata Alignment Issues Continue To Steer Drivers To The Repair Shop
Here’s an update on a defect alert we have now been reporting on for over a year, the Hyundai Sonata alignment issue. Unfortunately, the issue continues to occur among Sonata drivers and we have successfully represented numerous consumers with the problem. Surprisingly enough, we continue to receive calls weekly to the 1 800 LEMON LAW hotline regarding the matter.
If your Hyundai Sonata is veering, or you are having a difficult time keep the car within your lane, chances are it is not your imagination. Through our representation, we have learned the car company did issue several technical service campaigns for 16. 17 and 18 inch wheels in an effort to address the problem, but the defect continues to occur. Consumers continue to feel their car drifting to the right or left consistently. Often, when taking the car back to the shop, the dealer may offer an alignment or tell the consumer that the car is driving to normal specifications. Our experts have proven how these alignment issues cause severe uneven wear on tires and in certain instances, we have seen drivers repeatedly spend thousands on new tires every 10,000-20,000 miles. In our eyes, this is completely unacceptable.
If you are suffering with Hyundai Sonata alignment issues, it is essential that you make an appointment at a Hyundai-authorized dealership to have the matter addressed. Ask the service adviser to take a test drive so you can illustrate how the car veers. Make sure you receive a repair invoice upon picking up your car which illustrates that you complained of the issue and outlines what was done to address the issue. Even if they do not provide a fix, make sure you receive a repair invoice. It’s also important to note that under your Hyundai warranty, you may take your car to any authorized Hyundai shop for repairs. Therefore, if you are getting any satisfaction from one dealer, feel free to go to another.
Once you have three repair invoices for the same problem, it is important to look into your rights under State Lemon Laws and Federal Warranty Statutes. We have succeeded in winning Lemon Law repurchases for clients, and monetary compensation for those who do not fall under the Lemon Law parameters. The key to ensuring maximum remedy is to make sure you report the problem promptly and as long as it exists. It is essential that you illustrate the you are continuing to experience the non-conformity and doing everything you can to have the matter fixed.
If your Hyundai dealer is not steering you toward a fix with your Sonata alignment issue, fill out our Get Rid of Your Lemon form or call call us at 1-800 Lemon Law (1-800-536-6652). We will be glad to discuss your situation and how we can help.

My 2011 Hyundai veers right and Hyundai claims all is food on specs. However, I took it elsewhere and alignment was way off. After alignment, adjustments were maxed out and it CANNOT be fixed. It’s close, but still off and still veers right, just not as severely a before. I am frustrated.

Having an issue with my 2015 sonata, it pulls to the right and has been for quite some time now I have had tires rotated and the car serviced on a regular basis. The other day a tire light came on and we noticed that the tire needed air. When we took it to a tire repair shop they noticed the tires were excessively worn on the inside. We were told that we must have hit a pothole, which we didn’t, and that we needed an alignment. Now I’m seeing that scores of people are having the same issue. Need advice! We also were told by the dealership that the 100,000 mile extended warranty does not cover the issue, why not?
