Hyundai Push Button Start Problem Persists

Are you having problems with your Hyundai push button start? Have your keyless start problems left you stranded because your Hyundai won’t start?

We have been frequently writing about the dilemmas Hyundai drivers are encountering, including alignment issues and transmission troubles.Now comes a new one on the horizon: A problem with the Hyundai push button start.

The message boards are blowing up with folks who are being left stranded by the Hyundai push button start problem.

The issue has to do with a failure in the brake pedal sensor. Ideally, a driver is supposed to put their foot on the brake and push the button. Provided the Hyundai identifies a key fob in the vicinity (a pocket or purse), the car should start up with no problem. However, the sensor in the brake pedal appears to be defective. As a result, the car cannot comprehend that the driver has their foot on the pedal and the car will not start.

We know of many drivers who are regularly going back to their Hyundai dealer to address this problem, and some folks have been told that there is no fix being that it is intermittent. Others have been told that the problem will correct itself. That is not the case.

We believe the manufacturer has yet to identify a proper fix and many more Hyundai drivers are going to have this push button start problem ‘down the road.” This issue could certainly leave many drivers stranded in driveways, parking lots, and gas stations.
