Widespread GM transmission problems continue to leave drivers shaken up all over the country. SUVs produced by General Motors are experiencing huge problems involving their Transmission Torque Converter Clutch—more commonly known as the TCC—and many drivers are calling tout the manufacturer for this severe safety defect. With so many GM customers experiencing similar issues, it is hard to call the issue an exaggeration.

A local news station in North Carolina posted a video to their YouTube channel illustrating the problem. That segment included a Chevrolet Silverado with intense shakes and shudders, enough to leave the driver feeling unsafe in the vehicle.

There is a long list of popular vehicles experiencing this GM transmission problem regularly, including but not limited to:

  • Chevrolet Silverado
  • GMC Sierra
  • Cadillac CTS
  • Chevrolet Camaro
  • GMC Yukon
  • And many more, on a list that can be found here.

Customers are no strangers to GM transmission problems, as many have filed complaints with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. One recent complaint concerning the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado reads: “While driving above 60 mph, the lower section of the steering wheel and the driver’s seat constantly vibrated…The tires were replaced and balanced; However, the failure continued.” Over the summer, the owner of a 2018 GMC Sierra complained that “the truck shift[s] into gear very roughly” and that it “shakes when driving through all speeds.”
