Could 2013 Ford Recall Lead To A Lemon Law Claim For Your Escape or Fusion?

It appears Santa should be putting Ford on the naughty list. A massive 2013 Ford recall has caused many Ford Escape and Fusion drivers to scream something even worse than “Bah Humbug.”

89,000 2013 Ford Escapes and Ford Fusion models are recalled due to a potential fire risk.  They are being towed to dealers across the Country.  You would think that Ford would want this massive 2013 Ford recall addressed as soon as possible.  It’s certainly not the best way to ring in the new year.  The problem is that the dealerships have no information on how long this fix could take and that means that many Ford Escape and Fusion drivers will be ringing in the holidays in a loaner car.

Unfair?  Absolutely.  But, remember if your Ford Escape or Ford Fusion is out of service an extended period of time (15 business days in Massachusetts, 20 days in New Jersey, 30 days in Pennsylvania, etc.), you do have rights under your State Lemon Law and you may be looking at a refund.  Best of all as readers of this blog know, under most State Lemon laws, there is a fee-shifting provision which provides completely cost-free legal representation.  There would be no cost or no risk to fighting back.  Click here to find out what your Lemon Law rights are in your state.

Do not make a fuss with the dealer. Wait patiently for your car to be fixed properly.  However, make sure that the repair invoice clearly outlines the extended period of time your car was in the shop.  This invoice will be the key piece of evidence to help you make a claim.
